One of Australia’s favourite racehorses retired in 2013, but she still busy breeding for future racing hopes, and making money for a local school. Greg Morton was asked to utilise some pretty amazing memorabilia from the great mare’s history and frame it for a charity auction. Greg says that the finished work, which measured approximately 120cm by 80cm when completed, was wonderful to create. As everyone who has worked with silk knows, it is a very delicate fabric and sometimes a challenge to manage. ‘Black Caviar’ was a very popular item in the auction and the organisers were delighted with the proceeds.
